Think You're an Apple Genius?
Since the Apple iPhone is looking to get back on top of the mobile market, they have been constantly releasing new iOS updates for their users. Did you know that you can ‘hack’ your iPhone to do cool tasks for you? Take note that most of these hacks or hidden features are only available on the latest software update: iOS 11.
Closing Multiple Apps at Once
We know that we can close apps one by one by sliding them in an upward motion, right? But, by placing three fingers and sliding upwards, we can close all the apps that are running in the background at once.
Shake Your iPhone to Delete Text Messages
When you want to delete texts on your iPhone, you usually go to the message and delete it manually, right? Did you know that you can delete messages by shaking your phone? All you have to do is go to “Accessibility” under your settings, and activate the “Shake to Undo" option. It doesn't matter whether you are typing a message or editing a picture, it will still work.
Customize Your Vibration Patterns
You can change the vibration patterns and intensity of your iPhone. Go to “Settings” and select “Vibration” (it is in a default mode until you change it). From there you can see different types of vibration patterns. If you want to change the vibration, press “Create New Vibration.”
You can personalize different vibration patterns for your contacts. This allows you to know who is contacting you without looking at your iPhone.
Smart Invert Option
Smart Invert allows the phone to invert colors for UI Elements, and will turn your phone into dark mode. Here's how to do it: in “Accessibility” go to “Display Accommodations” and press “Invert Colors.” There you go, you won't have a typical white background anymore!
Prevent Your iPhone from Tracking You
Did you know that your iPhone can be tracked? Not only iPhones, but all smartphones. iPhones keep a detailed log, and list your locations through maps. Of course, nobody wants to be tracked, but it’s becoming very common with tech gadgets.
To stop your iPhone from tracking you, navigate over the privacy options and tap “Turn Off Location Services.” If you want to delete the records of your past destination, delete the location history and turn off the location setting.
Create PDFs with Safari
This is a new option in Safari called Markup as PDF. The current page will be converted and will let you add markups using the screenshot tool. You can use this shortcut to convert pages to PDF; then, tap the "Share" button and send it to a specific application or contact. This is a much faster than the convoluted option in iOS 10. This works on both iPhones and iPads.

Screenshot Markup Tools
When taking a screenshot on iOS 11, you will see a preview on the bottom left corner of your screen. Once you tap it, you will see the screenshot ready with the markup tools on it. You can also design the screenshot by adding doodles, zooming in or out, adding text, and a more.
Whether you add some designs or not, you can share it by tapping the “Share” button and choosing the app or contact you want to share it with.
Manage Your Data Use
If you are a just a newbie when it comes to iOS devices, you might be shocked by your bill, especially if your phone was using data without your consent. You can limit that by turning off your data usage for your iCloud account. You can also disable power, data-hungry apps, and automatic downloads from using mobile data.
How? Open your settings, and limit the amount of usable data in a given period.
Get Rid of the Focal Camera
In the default camera of iOS, tapping on the screen while taking pictures with the camera causes it to shift to autofocus mode. However, every time the camera is moved, the focal point disappears. You can avoid this by pressing on the screen for two seconds until you see the "AF Locked" option. You can also turn your iPhone into portrait mode without losing the focus.
Improve Battery Life and Reduce Charging Time
As iPhone users, the biggest problem you’ll have with your phone is the battery. It's just the way it is for Apple devices. Hopefully Apple solves these battery problems with their next product or software update, because what's the point of having an expensive phone when the battery doesn't perform well? However, you can increase the battery life of your iPhone a bit. How?
Turn off the location services, enable low power mode, turn off Bluetooth, close background applications, disable all system animations, and switch to airplane mode when possible. These hacks can save your battery, and prolong your phone’s shelf life.
