If you’re looking for a premium tablet experience with a small form factor, the iPad Mini 4 is where to go. It’s available for $399, and is a nice alternative to the iPad (2017).

The iPad Mini 4 is showing its age a little now, but it still holds up against many cheaper tablets. It is equipped with a 7.9 inch 1536 x 2048 resolution display, and an A8 chip. It has a decent battery life as well.

Huawei MediaPad M5 10 (Pro) - $449+

The Huawei MediaPad M5 10 Pro is a brand new tablet; it was announced at MWC 2018. This tablet has the same premium feel you’d expect from an iPad or Samsung tablet, but it also comes at a premium price. The base model is expected to cost $449, with the 128GB 4G version costing $600-$700.

The display on the MediaPad M5 10 is one of the best on the market and comes in at 10.8 inches, paired with decent hardware and the latest version of Android.

Microsoft Surface Pro - $899+

If you’re after a tablet that can provide a true desktop experience, you just can’t beat the Microsoft Surface Pro. This tablet is very pricey, but it’s what you have to pay to get a tablet with laptop quality specs and a super high definition 12.3 inch display.

The base model starts at $899, while the most expensive version is available for $2,699.

Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 - $729+

The Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 is essentially Samsung’s attempt at competing with the Microsoft Surface Pro. They’ve done a good job here.

You get a high resolution display, laptop quality hardware, (for example, an i5 processor and SSD), and included keyboard and stylus attachments for a price that’s in-line with Microsoft’s offering.
